Hillsborough River State Park State Park VRThe Hillsborough River State Park includes 2,990 acres located along the Hillsborough River. The park includes river swamps, cabbage palms, oak hammocks, cypress trees and other native Florida communities. State parks are managed to provide and protect examples of the "real" Florida for enjoyment and appreciation. Visitors to the park can picnic, canoe, fish, hike, camp and swim in a constructed pool. There's even a place at the park where you can see the Hillsborough River's Class II rapids! But don't throw your canoe in the water just yet - the rapids area is closed to boating. However, canoeing Baby alligatorin the downstream portion of the river is allowed, just watch out for alligators!
