Florida House
Can you imagine taking a shower, washing your clothes or watering the yard without depending on the public water supply? Located on the campus of Sarasota Technical Institute, this model home was designed to teach visitors how to accomplish this and other water conservation techniques.
The Florida House Learning Center takes only 10 percent of its water supply from the city. The additional water comes from a variety of water-saving methods, including cisterns and water-efficient household fixtures.
Since our water resources will benefit from our water-conserving efforts, visitors are encouraged to take away a few of these ideas and use these techniques in their daily lives.
