What is The Great Water OdysseySM?
The Great Water Odyssey is a multidisciplinary technology-based program that is hands-on, easy-to-use and FREE! This interactive water resource curriculum is sponsored by the Southwest Florida Water Management District. Its purpose is to increase third-grade students’ understanding of the importance of protecting and conserving Florida’s water. The curriculum also helps educators meet the challenge of engaging and motivating students in learning necessary skills by providing FCAT-like reading response questions and writing prompts, as well as integrating multiple subject areas such as history, geography, math, social studies and science. The Great Water Odyssey curriculum and supplements are correlated to the Florida Sunshine State Standards.
